About
Captions finished in the browser
AutoCaptions turns speech into timed captions you can edit, style and export — without a desktop editor or a render queue. It is built and operated by an independent team.

Why we built it
Most caption tools force a choice: a full video editor that treats captions as an afterthought, or a transcription tool that stops at a wall of text. We wanted the shorter path — drop a clip, get timed captions, fix the words that matter, choose a look, and export a file you can post.
The product is deliberately narrow. It does not try to be a timeline editor, a stock library, or a social scheduler. It focuses on the caption layer: transcription, timing, readability, styling and export.
What we believe
- Your video is not our content. The video is read in your browser. Only the extracted audio is sent for transcription. We do not keep a video caption history.
- Free should be usable. The free plan includes the full editor and free SRT/VTT/TXT downloads. Video exports carry a watermark and are capped at 720p and 10 minutes; the limits are stated before you start.
- No fake accuracy numbers. Transcription quality depends on the audio. We do not claim a universal “99% accurate” figure; we explain what affects accuracy and why you should review captions before publishing.
- Boring is good for billing. Paddle is the Merchant of Record. You get a receipt, a customer portal, and a clear cancellation path. We do not store card numbers.
How the product works
- You choose a video in the browser. The audio track is extracted locally.
- The audio is sent to our transcription provider and returned as timed words and captions.
- You edit wording, merge or split lines, adjust timing, translate, and apply a style.
- You export a captioned MP4, or download SRT/VTT/TXT. Subtitle files are free on every plan.
