This Privacy Policy describes how Foshan Xinsailai Network Technology Co., Ltd. (operating the brand “AutoCaptions,” also referred to as “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our websites (including autocaptions.org), services, and applications (collectively, the “Services”).

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information You Provide

  • Account Registration. When you sign in (for example with Google), we may receive your name, email address, and profile image.
  • Payment Information. When you purchase a subscription, payment details are processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems. We may retain order identifiers, product SKUs, amounts, and status needed for billing support.
  • Communications. If you contact us, we may receive your email address and the contents of your message.

Information Related to Caption Jobs

  • Guest conversions. Guest captioning is designed so that transcription results are not kept in an account history after the session.
  • Signed-in results. If you are signed in, we may store billing records (plan, orders, and subscription status). Videos stay on your device. Only extracted audio is sent for transcription.
  • AI processing. Audio is sent to our transcription and language partners (for example Groq, and xAI when multi-speaker is enabled) to return captions. We use this to deliver the feature, prevent abuse, and operate the service.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, we may automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and approximate timestamps. We may use cookies or similar technologies for session and preference purposes.

2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use information to provide and improve the Services, process payments, authenticate accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, communicate about your account, and comply with law.

3. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We may share information with service providers who help us operate the Services (for example hosting, payment processing via Paddle, and transcription partners). We may also share information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Foshan Xinsailai Network Technology Co., Ltd. and our users. We do not sell personal information.

4. DATA RETENTION

Guest caption results are not retained as account history. Custom fonts you upload can be deleted by you at any time. Account, billing, and ledger records may be kept longer as needed for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal obligations.

5. SECURITY

We take reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at support@autocaptions.org. You may also sign out and stop using the Services at any time.

7. CHILDREN

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

We may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we take steps to protect transfers in accordance with applicable law.

9. CHANGES

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
