How we write and update this site
Our guides and comparisons are written for people who need to finish captions, not for search engines. Here is how we research, test, update and correct them.

Who writes the content
Content is produced by the AutoCaptions editorial team and reviewed by the people who build and support the product. We do not publish invented author biographies, fake credentials, or customer stories. When a page needs a specialist review (for example, accessibility or legal), we say so and link to the primary source instead of pretending to be the authority.
How product claims are checked
- Feature and limit claims are checked against the current product configuration and plan limits before publishing.
- Pricing claims are checked against the live pricing page and, where relevant, the payment provider’s checkout.
- Privacy claims are checked against the actual data flow and the current processor list on the Security page.
- We do not publish a universal accuracy percentage. Transcription quality depends on the audio, so we describe the variables and the review step.
How competitor comparisons work
Comparison pages are based on the competitor’s public product pages, pricing pages and help documentation, checked on the date shown on the page. We link to the competitor so you can verify the current offer. Prices and features change; if you spot an error, email us and we will correct it.
We do not accept payment for a ranking, a review, or a “best of” placement. Affiliate links, if introduced later, will be disclosed on the page and will not change the comparison criteria.
AI assistance
We may use AI tools to draft, outline or edit content, but a human reviews product claims, limits, pricing and privacy statements before publishing. AI is not used to invent test results, reviews or customer quotes.
Updates and corrections
Pages show a “Last updated” date. We review pricing and limit-sensitive pages when the product or a competitor changes, and at least quarterly. To report an error, email support@autocaptions.org with the URL and the correction. Verified corrections are applied to the page and, where the change is material, noted in the update date.
What we will not do
- Publish fake ratings, review counts, user numbers or “tested” claims without a method.
- Claim that machine captions are automatically compliant with accessibility law.
- Hide the free-plan watermark, resolution cap or video-length cap in small print.
- Use another tool’s brand name in a way that suggests an endorsement or partnership.
