Turn a subtitle file into a plain transcript without uploading it. Paste SRT or VTT, copy the text, download a .txt.

When to use a plain transcript

Plain text is useful for show notes, video descriptions, blog drafts, and search indexing. It is not a playback format: if you need captions on the video, keep SRT/VTT or burn the captions in. SRT/VTT downloads are free in the caption studio too.

Questions

Does this upload my subtitle file?

No. Parsing and conversion run in your browser. The file is not sent to a server.

Which formats can I paste?

SRT and WebVTT are supported. If the parser cannot read the file, check for missing timestamps or an unusual format.

Is the text cleanup automatic?

It removes subtitle timestamps and index numbers and joins multi-line cues into a single line. You can edit the output before copying.
