Answer first
What is free — and what is not
The free plan is a real working tier, not a countdown. You can caption a 10-minute video, edit the wording and timing, apply styles, and download SRT/VTT/TXT without paying. The free video export carries an AutoCaptions watermark and is capped at 720p.
Pro removes the watermark, raises the video limit to 30 minutes and exports at HD. Max goes to 60 minutes and adds multi-speaker captions, Auto Clips and the keyword highlighter. Subtitle files are free on every plan — we do not put SRT behind the paid wall.

Subtitle files only

Free-plan questions
Is this really a free auto caption generator?
Yes. The editor is free, and SRT/VTT/TXT downloads are free. Free video exports include a small AutoCaptions watermark and are capped at 720p and 10-minute videos.
Do I need a credit card or account?
No card and no account are required to caption a video. Google sign-in is only needed when you buy or manage a paid plan.
Why is the free video watermarked?
Transcription and browser export both have real costs. The watermark keeps the free video tier available without a trial timer. Subtitle files stay free so you can use them anywhere.
Can I download SRT for free?
Yes. SRT, VTT and TXT downloads are free on every plan, including the free plan.
What are the free limits?
Videos up to 10 minutes, 720p video exports, and an AutoCaptions watermark. Editing, styles, SRT/VTT/TXT and sharing the exported file are included.
